Shock Question
Hey Auto Brothers I have a question, I finished installing new shock absorbers in my car now on the inside of the car how far are you to tighten the shock because it seems like you can turn it forever i have about 13 thread of the shock showing inside of the car and can still turn it do I go all the way to the end of do I stop?
By the way the old ones were about the same length in turning too.
Will it make the car take bumps better if I turn them all the way?

P.S It was hard an h*ll to remove the old ones from underneath the car I bent a pipe and a ratchet trying to remove the rusted nut. It finally came off with vice grips and the 4-way lug nut remover.

Tighten them until the rubber bushing is about the same OD as the washers, or just slightly larger. Don't overtighten them, the bushings will just disintegrate.
Pay close attention to the condition of the sheet metal around the bushings. They are notorious for punching right through the floor pan. Mine did that at about 250,000 miles. Came completely apart.
