Need some info

Hey guys. I'm new here and i'm soon going to be a first time 3rd gen and F body owner. A friend is selling me a black 1991 firebird 5.0 TBI with the 5 speed. The one problem with it is it needs tires. Can anyone suggest a good fair priced tire? I have a set of Firestone Firehawks, anyone know how good they are? I personally never had the chance to try em out. I also heard about these cars hitting speed bumps. I plan on driving mine to school next year and of course there's a speed bump just waiting for low cars, lol. My question about that is, how much higher would the car need to go to nicely clear an average speed bump? I'd like to get that out of the way so I don't ruin the underside of the car. I'm proud to finally be getting a 3rd gen F body always wanted one. Thanks for any help.

I love the Firehawks. Great tires. I've had them on my 3rdgens. another good inexpensive one would be Stingers. they're made by Dean rubber. The Stingers run around $60ish each.

Thanks for the reply. I liked the Firehawks too, eventhough I only got to use them for a few miles. Like I said, I have a good pair to use, but i'm not sure if they'll fit or not, i'll have to check when the time comes. I'll have to check those Stingers out sometime too, never heard of em. Did you get the Stingers from a local place or online?

Re: Need some info

I got them from a local place. but they've had to special order them for me everytime I get them. Not sure where their supplier gets them, but I've got a link to the site for the tires somewhere. I'll find it and post it.
