Wheels and Tires
my question is this: I have an 89 trans am and it has 16 inch wheels on it.... Is there anything special I have to be aware of when replacing them with aftermarket wheels...and is there a company that is best when looking for wheels?

Re: Wheels and Tires
For the most part, you have to buy wheels having the correct offset to fit your car.
You can buy replacement 16"x8.0" wheels from a variety of sources which should fit your car. Or, You can buy 17"x8.0" wheels from SLP, and need no spacers, these SLP wheels are designed to fit 3rd gen cars. Or, you can buy 4th gen wheels (like 17"x9.5") and buy the correct spacers because the backspacing is so different.

Your options are really unlimited. The aftermarket has an infinite amount of choices and as mentioned above you can use some other camaro wheels with the use of adapters. It is best to chose a style that you like and then buy them with the correct specs for your car.

Re: Wheels and Tires
You can pretty much find any wheel for your car, it is finding the right one that is tough. Wheels can make or break a car. I have a 89 RS and went from the stock grey 15 inch 5 spoke to 17 inch torque thrusts and it made a huge difference. I would personally find a direct bolt on instead of using adaptors. Do plenty of research. Go into the VB garage. There are plenty of f bodies with every wheels imaginable. Thread
