Re: quick question 18s fitment

As far as I know, the rear will take 10's and the front will take 9's. But I'd wait for someone who has a set to chime in to be sure.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

It all depends on the backspacing you ordered them with as well as what tire sizes you choose.

Start by telling us the specs of the wheels and tires and we can help you from there..

Re: quick question 18s fitment

I just put 17"x9.5 wheels (54mm offset) on the front with P275/40R17s, and 18"x10.5 wheels (58mm) with P295/35R18s on the rear. No rolling of the fenders was needed. These are 4th gen wheels, therefore, I am using a 1.7" adapter on the front due to 1LE brakes, and 2.00" adapter on the rear.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

there ROH RT's 18x9 front 275 35 18 and 18x10 rears 295 35 18 there designed for install without spacers. they bolted right up and i have been driving with them for the last 2 days, so far no rubbing, i have factory RS suspension and its a 91 convertible. Im not planning on lowering the car at all i think it looks great with the wheels on now ill snap some pics tomorrow, if i were to lower it i think i would have to roll the rear fender lips. I have not triied driving with passengers in the back seat yet but i had my friends pushing the rear of the car down as far as it would go and the bump stops hit first so i should be in good shape. thanks for the replies.

cheers, devin.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

How's the ride with the 18" w/ 35 and doc how is yours compared to riding 16 w/ 245/55/16.

I want to go to go with a 17 or 18, but not lose ride quality for my daily driver. Any suggestions?

Re: quick question 18s fitment

I have the exact wheels you speak of with the same tire size aswell, but my car is low. I rolled the lips, it is best to do that because if your tire grabs the quarter lip it will not be pretty!! And this combo is very close so I would not gamble with it. You do hit the bump stops before the quarter, but they are made of rubber so you will go lower than the bump stop at times.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

graebz28 - the ride quality is pretty well the exact same, i noticed no difference other that the front end wonders a little more, but where i live the semi trucks make bad ruts in the road and the car tends to try to track in them so you always are compensating for the raod, other than that it really is no big deal.

91wtROH17's - i know what your talkin about hitten the bump stops just before the quaters but i was thinking that the newer s-10 trucks ( my girlfriend has a 2000 extreame ) has the same looking bump stops but there made of hard material of some sort kinda like a poly bushings. i think im gunna try to get a set of them for the car so the factory one dont squish so much.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

That could work better, but I would still roll the lip to be safe. Good luck....

what suspension are you running? you should be rubbing with that setup. i had to roll mine to fit 295/30's with a 5.75 backspacing on a 10" rim. if i had stock suspension height this wouldn't be the case though.

that wide of a tire looks cool.. but it's un necessary. i also had to cut my rear bumpstops off completely.

stick with 16's if your worried.. some think 16's with a sport suspension upgrade are too stiff. if your worried about the ride quality it will change so you had better plan on doing upgrades to your suspension and even with the best, money no object you won't ride as nice as 16's.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

It sounds like you have your question answered, but I will chime in anyway. I have ROH Drift R's in 18x10 and run a 285/35r18 out back and have had no rub at all even with sportlines. I plan on installing a 295/35r18 BFG g-force Drag radial here when these get thinner... There is enough room without touching the fenders.

IROC, are you running spacers on the rear wheels?
It looks like the rear wheels are at or outside the fenders?

I am trying to fit 295/40/18's on 18x11 wheels now. I may try to order some spacers, but I don't want the wheels to stick outside the fenders.
Thanks,
Tommy

Re: quick question 18s fitment

I left the factory spacers on the back, there like 1/8-1/4 inch, I have had problems in the past with my other camaro with the wheels corroding or sticking to the wheel brake drums.
If I took them off It would pull the wheel in slightly but not enough to help with the fender clearence.
The wheels in the back are just inside the fenders and would touch just slightly with the suspension fully bottomed out. there is more room for wider wheels but its on the backside of the wheel.
Ill go outside and snap some pics of what im talking about.

Re: quick question 18s fitment

a few more picks first one shows the wheels are inside the fenders, seccond shows small factory spacer, third shows the amount of room to fit larger wheels
