The New Aftermarket Suspension

Camaro Nuts,

I have made the decision to overhaul the suspension with aftermarket parts. Obviously, I am trying to get the best for the buck. I have read soooo many different threads trying to piece them together and this is the list that I was able to come up with. Give me some feedback and I believe this could be a good thread for those who simply want the best suspension the can get for the thirdgen f-body:

-Eibach Sportsline Springs
-Koni Sport Adjustable Shocks and Struts
-Spohn Sway Bars
-Hotchkis Subframe Connectors
-Lakewood Lower Control Arms
-Spohn Adjustable Panhardbar
-Spohn Lower Control Arm Brackets
-Spohn Wonderbar
-Edelbrock Strut Tower Brace

if you are going for the world with shocks, why not splurge for a set of spohn or UMI poly/spherical lower contral arms? all other part you list are premo and then the low buck control arms? and how bout a nice torque arm

You're gonna absolutely love it. I just redid my rear suspension and it fells like a new car. As soon as my bump stops come in (may 9th, hopefully), I'll be redoing the front with tubular a arms and Eibach springs. I'm even thinking of doing a LS1 or C5 brake conversion while I have it apart.

Krisb410- I absolutely cannot wait to get the suspension upgraded, I will be doing the tubular a arms a little later.

//<86TA>\\ - Do you think the Koni shocks are a bit much or do you feel that a better and more reasonable brand is the way to go. I was going to hold off on the torque arm and a-arms for a little later. I betting that just the parts alone that I have mentioned will fetch about 2k.

Re: The New Aftermarket Suspension

Just put the Koni yellows on the lowest setting, that's what I did in the rear, Fronts will go on along when I do the front next weekend.

Re: The New Aftermarket Suspension

Do the KONIs, no question.
Although, I would look into a different spring, though. The SportLines are way too soft for that ride heigth to handle well. You'll be smacking the bump stops alot.
What ends are you going with on the LCAs and PHB? I know of a way to save some money with them if you are going to do rod ends on both or just one end.

Re: The New Aftermarket Suspension

91_5.7_TPI - I wasn't sure as of yet, I just wanted to get a feel for if those who have taken some of these parts think of them. I guess when I get those to chime in who have already done a similar upgrade weigh in and then I'll be able to make a decision.

What did you have in mind as far as a way to save money? I am sure that not only myself is wanting to know also.

Re: The New Aftermarket Suspension

i see nothing wrong with the koni, definitely go with them, i was just wondering why you chose the specific control arms, you made a good list and will love the way your car handles

Re: The New Aftermarket Suspension

I don't have the SportLines, but I do have the ProKit, and in my opinion they are too soft. I have most of the upgrade you mentioned already. Just look at the sig.

I was reffering to making your own LCAs and PHB like I did here. Well, those are just the LCAs, but the PHB is about the same thing. They'll save you money if you are going to go rod end (on or both ends) and adjustable on car.
