J&M strut mounts and Tokico Illuminas....Help
Im in the process of installin my new Tokico sturts and J&M upper mounts. The instruction sheet in the Tokico box says some struts reuse the factory boots. So i removed the boots from the old struts and put them onto the Tokicos. When I go to slide the tokicos into the mounts the boot wont allow it up high enough to get the nut on. Pretty much the strut can come up high enough in the mount due to the boot. Have any of you run into this problem? What can I do? Is it OK to leave the boot off? Any help is very apriciated.

I just went though this with the j&m plates with my tokico hp's . I went to the auto parts store and bought some dust covers that look like fork boots on a dirt bike. They fit nice around the lower part of the strut and the top I just ziptied around the strut shaft it self. .I came out real nice . The stock ones wont work .Good luck.

I think if you cut/shave the stock boot the right way you can make it work but I got lazy and just tossed the boots and I run em with no boots. I clean them often...
