Need some quick help answer today
I got a replacement torque arm bushing with the bracket from the dealership. I have all of the nuts and bolts off and have detached the other half of the bushing. Right now the bracket won't come out because of the bottom bolt is part of the bracket. I can't get it out far enough to pull out because it is hitting the tunnel. Is there a way to get it out and put the new bracket in with the bushing without dropping the transmission. This has been alot harder and taken alot more time than I planned. I figured that I may be able to just cut the old bolt to drop the bracket and somehow slide the new one in. Any help is be very much appreciated.

I had to drop the trans mount and get it from there. It's pretty easy. Take out 4 bolts lower trans w/ jack, while the jack is supporting the trans, take off the old bracket and replace. Once the new bracket is in, jack up the trans (it should line right back up) and install the torque arm. Be sure to use some of the grease that comes with the bushing.
Good luck.

How far down can I safely drop the trans down. I tried that and was going farther than I felt comfortable with. I dropped it down about 3-4 inches.

As far as you need to. Lower it as far as it will go, maybe take your cap off your distributer so it will clear, then jack it up a little ways, this should be plenty of room for you to get the job done.

I got it all back together finally. Now the only thing that I wonder about is when I put the car back down I heard a loud clunk from the rear.
