any good books on suspension tuning?
well every suspension component on my car is adjustable, tubular k member, coilover/dbl adj fronts, spohn tq arm, phb, double adjustable LCA's with LCARBs, QA1 shocks, and wolfe antiroll bar. Is there any good books on how to setup suspension on these cars? im trying to make it very consistant and i want to get some good reading material, what do you guys reccommend?
i searched and i found a couple, but i was wondering if there was any specific on drag racing with the Tq Arm style suspensions. these are a few that i am already going to order.
Door Slammers: The Chassis Book
Racecar Engineering and Mechanics - Paul Van Valkenburg
Racecar Vehicle Dynamics (r146) William and Douglas Miliken

Re: any good books on suspension tuning?
Racecar vehicle dynamics is VERY deep reading material, it's also the bible for just about any profesional crew chief or car builder. It was originally written for a college course...so as you might imagine the math is VERY thick.
I suggest Caroll Smith's "to win" series of books, get "Tune to Win" first. His books are very easy to understand and cover every aspect of race car building and tuning. You're not going to get any drag racing specific help from his books or any "handling" oriented suspension book. They do discuss instant centers and anti-squat which is what you mess with on a drag car. Door slammers will probably be your only drag specific book to look at, and I couldn't tell you how good it is.
Keep in mind that all the things you can adjust on your car only really adjust alignment, ride height, pinion angle and dampening settings. This is great, but these books you're looking at are more for design. I.E. shortening your torque arm, moving locating points of front and rear suspension points and things of that nature.
