Before you tell me to search the forum please rest assured, I've read the stickies and searched the message boards, even did some research outside TGO.
So please, if you have some useful information post it here.

Now the situation, my car is stock and I have no reason to believe it was ever lowered or had any suspension work done to it. I like the current ride hight and would like to keep it this way.
I finally managed to save some money to start buying suspension stuff maybe complete kits (sway bars, shock, etc).
This summer I will pull a 350 from a friend's van and swap out the 305, if you have any suspension related suggestions please put them in here.

Here's where I need your help.

Bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc
I need to know if the front end kit from PST (www.p-s-t.com) as advertised on their site and in most auto magazines (Chevy high perf, Super Chevy) is good or if I should look at something else (for the price I don't think anyone else can beat it, $179 I think). Energy Suspension has something but is just the bushings and the price is almost the same ($139). So the question is should I buy the front end kit from PST or is there anything else you can recommend?

Sway bars: Spohn Performance has some nice sway bars at 1" 5/16 4140 solid Chrom Moly ($147.50) front and 1" rear. Should I buy these or get the bars from PST ($139 if purchased with the front end kit or $159 separately), the diameters are: front 1" 1/8 or 1" 1/4 rear 3/4 or 7/8 (not sure if they are solid).

Shocks and Struts:
I'm totally lost, KYB's Gas-a-Just have an attractive price ($199 for a set of 4) but I hear mixed things about them. can you recommend something else for a similar price?

Springs:
I don't think I need new springs (and honestly I don't have the money for them). What do you suggest?

Subframe connectors:
I'm not ready for this yet but if you have any suggestions that would be great. I know one of the TGO site sponsors has them for a very good price but I'd have to look them up again.

Thank you for your help.

D.

Re: What suspension kit to buy - I need your help
I would go with energy suspension. I think they have a better ride to them. Spohn stuff is probably the best you can get. so I wouldn't be afraid to get anything from Steve. Shocks I don't know I need to get some for mine sometime too. I would look for Bilsteins for a decent price if you can get them. Or go with a coil over setup.

I looked it up and Jeg's has an ES kit for about $102. I'll just have to work out the cost to get the missing parts (ball joints, tie rod ends, etc). Any idea how much a set of 4 Bilsteines goes for?

That's out of my price range but if I save some more maybe I can get a set of 4.
Thanks for the link, it's in my favorites now.

You can also do a search on this forum, I recall that not too long ago someone posted that they'd found that Autozone could special-order them for ya cheaper than anyone else's listed price.

Also, I'd stay away from the P-S-T stuff, I remember reading people's complaints about 'em. (That might also be worth searching IMO).

Hope this helps.

Re: What suspension kit to buy - I need your help
Well, I'm in Canada, no Autozone near by.
Thanks for the advice on P-S-T, I was almost ready to order using their "secure" site when I realized it's not secure and the certificate for the site is under a different name so i guess I'll stay away from them if I can save some extra money and buy better parts somewhere else.

I've spent some time on Summit's site and here's what they have so far.
Bushings:
Energy Suspension kit ENS-3-18131R $99.95
Ball joints:
MOG-K61454T $25.39 Question: Do I need one or two per side (I'm at work now, can't look at the car)?
Tie Rod Ends:
Inner MOG-ES2227RL $55.69
Outer MOG-ES2226RL $43.39
Question: Should I buy the inner ones as well (money's tight)?
Shocks and struts (KYB):
GR-2 Strut $51.88
GR-2 Shock $20.95
AGX (adjustable -dumping) Strut $119.95
AGX (adjustable -dumping) Shock $89.35
Gas-a-just strut - not listed
Gas-a-just shock $37.95

PST sells a set of 4 KYBs Gas-a-just shocks + struts for $199.

What do you guys think about this? The more I look into it the less I know what to buy.

Thanks
D.

Re: What suspension kit to buy - I need your help
Well if you are looking to save a bit of money you should see if you need the ball joints and tie rods. If they are not loose then I dont think that I would worry about them. If they are I would go with Moog. That is all we use at the shop and have had no problems with them. If the front end doesn't have any play then that is money that can be well spent on other suspenion parts (shocks, struts, sway bars, bushings) Spend the money where it is needed then get a good front end alignment and enjoy.

Re: What suspension kit to buy - I need your help
Project, thanks for the links.
Muddy, you're right, if there is no play then I should spend the money where it's needed but I have a feeling after 16 years and 130000Km I might have to buy them.
This weekend I'll jack the car up and check everything.
Thanks again.
