sorry guys i forgot to say they were sportlines. what lowering issue were you refering to? the car isnt drivable its a work in progress so it basicaly just sits. the car didnt drop much at all when i first did the springs. but when i put the a arms on about 2 years ago or so it did that!!!!!! i didnt say anything to steve at spohn about it. i figured it would just give me a reason to do adjustable coilovers

YIKES!!!! Glad I saw that, I was looking to order a set of those A arms but was worried about the claims that they lowered the car by around 1/2". With my car on Sportlines (trimmed) that definitely would be a problem.

Re: eibach springs and spohn a arms.....

i had heard that the original design spohn a-arms lowered the front of the car, and i think is was another 1/2 inch or so, i think they were re-designed but im not sure. i could actually use a set of those, my front sits a little higher than the rear after all the lightening i did, and now with the new motor in progress, and even more weight reduction, i may be higher yet.

I just put a set of the sportlines on w/the stock a arms and it's actually riding higher than stock. Did yours take a while to settle?

Re: eibach springs and spohn a arms.....

they do need time to settle, they could be indexed wrong, the bottom end of the coil needs to be between the two drain holes in the a-arm, also the stock springs are usually always wasted by now, and the lowering springs are designed to lower the car from the factory ride height, which is not always was a car with 20-25 year old springs is sitting at.

Re: eibach springs and spohn a arms.....

i e mailed spohn about my a arm prob a few weeks ago....im actually dissapointed that i did not even get a response to the issue. not even a " to bad buy new ones" nothing at all. i like steve since i go to there shop to pick up my parts and can see how there stuff is made and shoot the **** with him. if i call or drive there i do not have the temper for that. cause im sure they will wind up being a 400 dollar waste in the end!!!!!!!!!!

Re: eibach springs and spohn a arms.....

I talked to spohn about this. He said the early design had lower spring boxes. He said the ones I had did not. When he changed them I don't know. I would check with him. He is really good about telling you about these kinda things.
