Spohn Torque arm woes. Any help????
Alright guys, just installed the Spohn tunnel mount, adjustable torqe arm. Installation was fairly strainght forward, but I did it without the instructions since I bought it used. I've since read the instructions, and I "think" i'm good as per their instructions.
Anyhow, couple of background details. A few years back, I lowered the car. A few months back, I installed adjustable LCAs as STOCK adjustment.
I removed the LCAs at the frame to install the torque arm. Figured I'd need to adjust them anyhow. OK, so AFTER setting the proper -2 degrees of pinion angle and snugging everything up, I tried to reinstall the LCA, and they were short. This made sense since the pumpkin snout went down sllightly, the LCA relocation mounts would've rotated back slightly, hence making them short. I readjusted them to fit and snugged 'em down.
Before driving, I noticed that the entire rear now appears to sit farther back in the wheel well. About 1" appears to have been added to the wheelbase!!! Honestly, I have NO idea how that's even possible, but sure appears to have happened!!!
I don't know if that's a problem or not, but let's keep moving forward....
....the vibration at high speeds has in fact been cured, but dam the suspension creaks, and moans and pops like crazy! Ever have a bad ball joint up front? Well that's what it sounds like. The car as a whole feels great, but there's strange noises and pops that make me wonder if the back of the car is gonna fall out! I understand that I've long since left the soft quiet days of "stock" but this can't be normal. And with the weird wheelbase thing, I feel like bad juju is around the corner.
I think I may completely remove and RE-INSTALL the rear suspension, but I wonder if any of you have any suggestions, experience, or advice.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Spohn Torque arm woes. Any help????
just shorten the lca's back to where you think they were and put it back together. the torque arm with the way the front mount is on the spohn it will move front to back so the arm didnt make anything longer. shorten the lca's back like i said and leave them on the car and bolted tight and then adjust the pinion angle. i did mine at -1 degree and left my lca's bolted on. no problems. is it just the torque arm you redid that mounts to the trans.....or is it the one that mounts to the trans cross member? just thought about that.

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU my friend are correct. The Tq arm DOES have room to move back and forth, so the LCAs DO need to come a little. THAT is what I did wrong. I was trying to figure out where that extra length came from and forgot the way the tq arm mounts to that crossmember.
....and yes, it's the crossmember mount.
