My 89 IROC is great except for the steering. The steering box is shot. What's the best upgrade for the steering? Should I get the stock steering box rebuilt? Does anyone make a good rack and pinion upgrade? I'd like a tubular front subframe with a power rack and pinion, does anyone make anything like that?

 

Do not use AGR.

I put this AGR box in my car about 6 months ago and it is a piece of crap.

It was very tight at first, now it has developed slop already and I have not touched a thing on it other than bolting it into place. I will never use AGR again.

I am going to pull it out and send it to Lee to find out whats wrong with it as soon as I am able to afford some downtime with this car.

Call him, tell him what you want, send in your box and be done. Or junkyard a spare "iroc" box to cut down on down time. You wont find a off the shelf box to compete with lees custom work.
