Professional help much needed. .

I have a 85' Sport Coupe and im running into this complication with this "clunking" type feel and noise that i have with my car. I am a technician at a Chevrolet dealership as well and even most of my co-workers than have been around 20+ years have ran out of idea's for this complication. I did a simple rotate and balance a few fridays ago when i did a service on my car. Well on the way home i could feel like "clunking" type noise through my shifter and through my floor board on the worst of roads that i must deal with in the state of California. I have replace both motor mounts that had a noticeable collapse on each one due to their age, and I replaced the torque arm bushings as well. The crossmember bushing, well rear trans mounts, are practically brand new since when i did the rear main back in the spring they had to be replaced. So now that all of the info is throw out to you all on what the situation is with the greatest camaro ive ever owned for the past 3 years. Your answers and suggestions would be greatly appreciated in the diagnostics that must be performed to solve this very aggravating problem. You can get ahold of me either through here or my e-mail is Kschroers1@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Well, I was going to say "transmission mount" since that is usually the answer for our cars, but it looks like you got that covered... I have a problem like this too. Tranny mount didn't fix it. Motor mounts are good, torque arm bushing seems A-OK. I'm in the middle of an engine rebuild and carb swap, so I gave up on it for now. Maybe someone will chime in with some words of wisdom.

recheck that trans bushing even if you think it is fine. It may have separated and you are asusuming it is good since it was recently replaced. I hae seen good factory looking bushings that were not well... good. They separate and you can not tell til you lift them off with a crowbar and see it gap.

Alright I'll be sure to check out the trans mounts tomorrow after work. Anyone else have any idea's to look out for?! It is just a weird rattle/clunk that almost feels like its comming from the rear because each time i back out of the garage every morning, I can feel it. It's driving me nuts!
