Eibach Springs

I was wondering if anyone has any before and after pictures they could post in this thread of an 82-92 firebird without a body kit (non-trans or gta) with either Eibach Pros or Eibach Sportlines.

Just wanna get an idea of what they are going to look like..whether or not I should go for the 1 inch pros, or drop it even more with the sportlines.

I know the Sportlines have a lower drop in the front springs. I want the front to have a lower stance, but I also dont want a shovel for a car.(My city roads were built for off-roading) Im being just a little sarcastic, but i do come across alot of steep driveways. I'm pretty sure with the 1 inch front and rear drop, the front end still has a lower stance.

But pictures speak for themselves.

and if I happen to miss a thread with these pictures already, fill me in!

Thanks

Re: Eibach Springs

I'm going to warn against Sportlines. They lower the car more than the Pro-Kit and they are softer. This combination leads to (and Eibach admits to designing them this way) riding on the bumpstops or at least using them as a supplement for the springs. This can lead to snap over- or under-steer. Some people on this forum report that they don't hit the bumpstops, but I don't see this being a common occurance.
Whatever spring you choose, be sure to get new shocks that are designed to work with lower springs. Otherwise, the car will ride and handle poorly.

Re: Eibach Springs

agreed, 1" is good, 2'' can sometimes make the car so low it wont fit on some service lifts.

Re: Eibach Springs

If you have the extra money, you might want to look into a set of Ground Control Weight Jacks. You can adjust the rid height as you see fit and get a good set of springs with it. You'll just need to get a front alignment everytime you adjust it. haha

Re: Eibach Springs

i got the sportlines and i believe there was a post on it.... do a search. i showed pics of every point int he process, i love the look its nuts how well they look, the sportlines have 1.6" drop front and 1.3" rear... prob alil more dpending where and how old ur springs are, might even lift it.... i have maybe an inch of fender gap in the front. the prokit doesnt get rid of the stock *** draggin stance bc its a uniform lowering of 1" front and rear. the prokit has stiffer rear springs but the fronts are really close.
sportlines are
700lb front
130 progressive rear

prokit
715front
160rear i believe.

its a low drop with the sportlines and i scrap my air damn getting in and outa some steep driveways and i cant get a jack under my car lol, i gotta use a low profile aluminum one. and i had to get my car aligned at a sports car (ferrari/vette/porshe) place bc its too low for most shops to do. but its all worth the performance and looks!!!

first pic is stock 120,000 ws6 springs stock struts/shocks
2nd+3rd are sportlines, Kyb shocks/struts, poly front control arm bushings

i have posted better pics do a search of my name in suspension, they have dropped alil since then especially in the rear, i believe i havent hit the bumpstops either and thats in NJ home of potholes

Re: Eibach Springs

i have sportlines on my car and i would recomend them but not if your ONLY doing the springs. i would upgrade the shocks and struts to something a little better matched to the springs and if you dont have the biggest sway bars on the car get them.... that will help ALOT with the bump stop problem...unless you drive 100 plus and hit a dip then its your fault.....lol. i put my sportlines on and it was almost not even noticable from the stock iroc springs in ride height since the stocks were sagging so bad. and i never bottomed out on the sagging 550lb iroc springs. i dont see a 700lb spring doing it then. i would post pics but some of you have seen them before and i have the problemed spohn a arms on and dropped the front ALOT... and havent corected the problem yet so the pic wont help you out.

Damn key marks suck. Didnt notice the yellow, dont worry though i got some too. It does not hinder the performance one bit .

How are speed bumps treating you custom?

Re: Eibach Springs

yea i kno, i did all the body work on the street just how it is for 2 weeks, and got a fresh coat of black with 2 coats of clear (car was blue originally) and after 3 months someone keyed it 5 houses down from mine the entire driver side!! AUGH!!! then the bump was a few months later infront of my house. the paints only alil over a year old
this is true about the yellow spots i havent noticed much power drop lol, i dont thinkt he painter put in the flex additive when he painted the front/rear bumpers.

speedbumps suckkkkk! ha not that bad if i go on an angle and turn the car off and barely roll over it lol.jk really it isnt that bad its my true duals that are killin me with the sportlines. i havent been able to cut into the floor to tuck the mufflers up but the rest has been knotched to the floor and doesnt sit lower than my deep trans pan.
----------
online170 i believe ur saturn has a 1.6/1.8 or 2L 4 banger lol thats just want to much power for me. i loved workin on saturns prob the easiest to work on, ive done a few front strut installs etc on them, loved it, it was cake
