could my proportioning valve be bad?

My brakes recently were sticking on the left side. I hit the prop. valve on the brake booster with a wrench and that solved the problem for a while. But now I believe it is back. I am having a pull to the right when i hit the brakes and when I am driving it is pulling to teh left some. I recently had an alignment and it fixed the pull to the left, but now I think it is brake related. Anyone have any stories like this?

My opinion is the rubber brake hoses are shot and not the proportioning vavle. But again, if you keep hitting it with a wench who kowns???

Re: could my proportioning valve be bad?

If your car is pulling left the right side rubber brake hose is bad and vise versa. Reason being is that if one brake hose goes bad it restricts the flow to that brake caliper while the other side still flows good and applies more pressure to the brake pads causing it to pull. It is a common f body problem.
