ride height dilema???

i have have made a few posts about spohns older a arms and when i put them on my car it instantly dropped even more then when i hade the stock a arms on with sportlines. i finaly got to talk to steve and he told me since my car was inch and a quarter lower then it should be it is probably not his a arms. he told me on his jig car the old a arms dropped the car about 1/4 inch and customers told him they dropped a half inch. but not near as much as i did. he told me it is probably my springs, he said the sportlines are junk and he isnt the first ive heard it from....lol.. he said they were probably sagging. so i bit the bullet and put the stock iroc springs back in the front just to see. with the sportlines in and heater hose wrapped around the top coil my fender to ground measurement was 24.5 inches. i put the iroc springs back in with noooooooo isolator what so ever and it went up to 26.25 inches. here is what is shocking my iroc springs have 150,000 miles on them and im surethey are sagging....lol. the sportlines have 5 miles on them and the car has just been sitting on them for about 6 years or so. its safe to say the sports are sagging i guess....but what do you guys think? there bad? should i call eibach and see if they will honor there garantee since they sagged and i will not get the sports im going to get the pro kit. will eibach take my sports back and exchange for a pro kit? what would all of you do? and anyone who has the pro kits, what is your fender to the ground measurments? thanks everyone!

Re: ride height dilema???

most people here that have sportlines say there front fender to the ground is 25.75 mine was at 24.5. something had to be wrong with the springs. i had an eighth inch of clearance from my wheel wells to my tire. it would be imposible to drive ANY car that low with out damaging the fenders.

Re: ride height dilema???

I'm not sure what to tell you. I saw a post on here awhile back about a car being undriveable with sportlines and spohn a-arms. I guess you could find out what the height of the sportlines is supposed to be (uncompressed) and then measure yours; if they're shorter make eibach replace them. Then put them back in, tell Steve that the car is *slightly* higher and still undriveable and to fix the a-arms for you.

After typing that all out it hardly seems worth the potential hassle. Maybe just buy a prokit and swap the fronts?

its amazing how much differance an inch and a half makes...lol. it is a big hassle to me i hate doing front springs in a third gen.lol. i am going to go with the pro kit since they are stiffer anyway, but if i can get eibach to foot the bill id be happy! i guess i could call eibach and see if they will tell me the measurment for the fronts and see what mine are then and go from there.
