Tire and Shock/Strut Recommendation

I am very fortunate to have received a low mileage 1988 Trans Am GTA with WS6 suspension as a gift. The car is amazing in every way, but the ride is very harsh. I know this is the trade off for the superb handling, but I need a softer setup as I will be using this car as a daily driver for my family. Replacing the car is not an option at this time.

I propose to:

1. Replace the existing shock/struts with a KYB GR-2 set

2. Replace the tires with Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (best ride per tirerack website)

Please give me your thoughts on these items.

i have the gr-2s. love them. great cheap performance shock/strut. will definately ride better than worn out ones thats for sure, but don't forget it's a performance variety. great for a dd nonetheless.

Re: Tire and Shock/Strut Recommendation

I had the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS tires installed today. There is a huge improvement over the Goodyear Eagles that were on the car. The ride is smoother and a lot more quiet. Also, I have not noticed any perceptible drop in handling. I recommend these tires.
