Ride height for dummies? (yeah me)

I own an 89 IROC that has been lowered with the Eibach sportlines. I bought original springs to replace them. I was at the shop tonight with the car and was yakking with the body guy about replacing the springs and he was saying my cars not that low! Can anyone post the measurment of thier GFX at the front of the door to the ground with stock springs? Or modded and state the mods. Thanks a bunch! The stance on the car is killer, but is it too low? Thanks again!

Re: Ride height for dummies? (yeah me)

Looks good to me! I have the whole front suspension out of my '88 right now and plan to run Sportlines when i put it all back together. Should fill the wheel wells nicely with the '01 Z06 wheels i just picked up. What makes you think it's too low? It's gotta handle like crazy with a low center of gravity.

I have an 89 RS with WS6 springs and to the top of each wheel opening is 27.5" with 245/45/R17 tires on each corner. It handles pretty good and the ride is quite stiff, but in my opinion it sits a bit high. I haven't decided yet how t go about lowering.

Re: Ride height for dummies? (yeah me)

Thanks for the replies, She handles awesome. Outcorners my Corvette. It just hits the ground too much here in pa. The lowest part of the car is it's 4" exhaust system. I was thinking of changing that out but the GFX are less than 5" from the deck. Looks great, corners great but I need it for my summertime DD. Thanks.

I've read, but never been able to confirm, that that's about stock ride height. Mine's 28 in the rear with Moog replacements and radiator hose as an insulator. After nine months or so with no "settling," I'm considering cutting just a bit. I like the look for lowered cars, but for me personally, the general hassle (driveways, speed bumps, dips, jacks, and so on) isn't worth the effort.

Re: Ride height for dummies? (yeah me)

Yeah James thats where I'm at. I do have a set of stock springs to make it real world livable. I'll measure the wheel archs next time I'm at the car or I could call Mike and have him do it. Thank you guys.

Re: Ride height for dummies? (yeah me)

My car still has the factory CSS WS6 springs in it, and at 57k its getting up there but its not ultra high milage like some of your guys cars.

As you can see, the factory ride height is kinda monstor truck, and the front sits higher than the back or at least it appears that way. Height at the fenders looks almost identical to Al Hasse's camaro:
