torque arm help??
So I am trying to attach the stock torque arm to a new cross member behind the tranny. (shorting the factory one and relocating it off the tranny) What will happen if i hard mount this to the new cross member by welding it or bolting it in a way that it can be adjusted for angle??? also does anyone know the factory angle it should sit at or comments on lowering it or raising it? I want the car to be nice off the line but manageable on the street.. Thanks

any reason your not planning to use an aftermarket cross-member or tunnel mounted torque arm?

I believe its 2* down. You won't get much movement, adjusting it at the crossmember. Really have to adjust it back at the rear end mount. But it could work if you're really tight on a budget. Two hymen ends with a big nut in the middle. It has to be able to move forward and back for the suspension travel.
The stock tq arm is weak, so while your welding on it, weld some gussets to it. I just picked up a jeggs torque arm and gusseted it. 300 bucks for the adjustable.

Re: torque arm help??
It must be able to slide, or otherwise move, from front to rear, at that point. It cannot be hard-mounted, because it will bind up with the LCAs, as they try to move through their much smaller arc, which shifts the wheelbase length.
Without this, SOMETHING will break. Whatever the weakest leg of the system is. Could easily be the car body.
