my car started knocking last night and i know its coming from the drivers side front wheel well.i think its the ball bearings. i also had the car jacked up last night on the passenger side.could all the weight caused something to get loose and make it rub agsinst the wheel

 

I wouldn't expect the wheel bearings to make that type of noise, however it is likely that a balljoint, outter tie rod end or strut mount is. My GTA had a popping noise in the front that was dry balljoints...previous owner never greased the front end. I've since replaced modt of the front end parts.

 

Is it popping just when you go over a dip or bump?
