ride hight question

ok i have a 82 camaro that use to have a 6 cyl engine and the guy i bought it off of threw in a 350 and he never changed out the front springs so the front end was sagging really bad.
So today i got bored at work and bought a set of stock front springs from auto zone. Well i put them in and when i set the car down it looks like i put a sky jacker lift kit on this thing lol the car is perfectly level rite now but the front end just seems really high over my other three camaros i use to have which were a 91 and two 92s and the front ends were no where near this high.

my question is
did the older cars sit alot higher than the newer third gen camaros

thanks,
john

Did you index them? You should be setting around 27 1/2".

Flat surface to fender lip is one way. Mine, with new IROC replacement springs (which seem to sit a bit low), measured about 27. From the middle of the center cap to fender lip was about 15 1/2.
