The one I had in my 88 Formy with a 10bolt rear end, is different and needed shims for a 1989 GTA rearend i have on there now..

If I buy a 1989 one, should it fit?

Me too, but the Edelbrock piece I bought for my 10-bolt a few years ago wouldn't fit a 9-bolt without a bit of modification.

Re: Torque arms?

3rdgen and 4thgen) stock torque arms are all the same and work on all stock rearends from 82-02 same with the upper and lower panhard bars and lower arms, the rear suspensions never changed.... so i dont understand why you need shims... elaborate what is being shimmed
