I am soon to upgrade to 16" IROC wheels and I've been looking at some tires. I am thinking about going with a unidirection tire such as the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tire or maybe the Yokohama AVS ES100. I want something for good dry traction and I don't care much about wet traction(I don't drive the car in the rain). What do you guys think? Are there other options that would better suit me?

 

I'm not very familiar with the Yokohama, but I wish I'd bought some GS-D3s with my 17s. From what I've read, they are an exelent (is that spelled right?) tire. Not great tread wear though, but what do you expect?

 

im running cheapo kumhos now, but when i put in my rear i think im gonna go with firestone firehawk wide ovals. cheap price and nice tread pattern. according to firestone its their ultra high performance summer tire. the 245 50 16's r only $116 each from tire rack.

I have g-Force spors, they are a nice tire for the money. I would rather have the GS-D3s though. I'm not really sure about the rest, though...lol
try going to frrax.com and asking there. They have a lot of knowledgable people over there.

 

What about regular non-directional tires (whatever they're called). Whats a good traction high speed rating 16" tire that is a lot of thirdgen drivers are using? Seems like there's too many choices...how can i narrow them down?
