UMI Crossmember/Torque Arm and TH400

A few months ago I called UMI and asked if their T5/TH350 crossmember/torque arm bracket would also work with a short shaft TH400. The person I spoke to said it would fit with no problems. So today I finally get around to installing it all and the crossmember is WAY off. The mounting pad on the crossmember where the trans mount would bolt is actually under the pan, and it looks like if I could bolt it on all the way the driveshaft loop is going to seriously hit the trans tunnel. I looked and the instructions are for a 93-02 Fbody, but the crossmember looks just like the picture for an 82-92. I am throughly confused to say the least. I still think it is of superior build quality, but will have to wait till monday to call them to figure it out. Just a little bummed, all I had to do after this was mock a few parts up and the car would be back on the road for the first time in about 4 years.

Not sure why they said that either. A TH400 has a HUGE difference in mounting to a TH350??? Thats just crazy.

The only thing I know thats the same is a TH350/Power Glide mounting.

I thought it was strange also, but I saw on the website before I ordered it that it had 2 mounting locations. Like I said, it was a mistake but I am just bummed. I have heard their customer service is awesome so I will call monday.

I would be sure you mis-understood us and no one told you it would fit your 400. Only Jerry handles tech support calls and he knows it will not fit the TH400... we are actually building them now and he is the designer. I handle tech support and sales e-mails and would not have told you it fits either.

Again I would be a 100% sure no one from our office would have told you that....

The TH400 is longer then the TH350, around 6 inches or so

Please do not get offended. I think it is a great looking/built product. It is possible that I misunderstood, but I think I would not have ordered it if I had any question about fitment. Like I said, it has been several months ago that I ordered it. I am not looking to get into a pissing match, I just would like to get it fixed. You know, I complimented you product and your customer service and all I was looking for is some help or suggestions. If you are saying I am the one that screwed up, then ok, I was not looking to place blame. What has to be done to correct it?
