Torque arm issues. Need thoughts and advice.
Alright guys, I've had a Spohn tunnel mount torque arm installed for about 6 months. It's adjusted properly, and it adds a noticeable increase in launching traction.
My problem is two fold. First of all, I have the typical "clunk" sound when the rear end torques up and applies tension to the torque arm. I've heard other people have issues with this. It doesn't effect performance, but it's a little irritating.
Second, I feel the 700r4 when it downshifts. I mean, you REALLY feel it. Hard to explain. The trans has always hit hard on the upshifts (due to the performance rebuild) but now I feel it "clunk" on the downshifts. I don't feel as if something is gonna break, but just it really annoys the crap out of me.
My solution? I think I'm actually going to go back to a transmission mount torque arm. I know that this is not the way to roll for ultimate performance, but since I don't actually race, I feel I can sacrifice a little for what I hope is a smoother and softer ride.
So what are your thoughts. Does this make sense? Anyone else feel that this is a fair trade, or should I suck it up and deal with it?

suck it up!
hehe, sorry
does the crossmember have the poly front mount or the spherical one?
I have the torque arm from umi, i dont have this clunk at all, never. Is it the torque arm? is you trans mount failing? i had a poly one fail on me just recently, let the trans move a little more than usual and knocked on the tunnel a little on hard acceleration.
