SFC's CLANG?!

So, I've been kinda holding off on posting about this, and mostly hoping it'd go away, but it hasn't, so now I'm starting to worry. Now that I've got my SFC's, every so often when I'm going over a speedbump with only my passenger side tires, or I hit a deep pothole, or anything else that makes the sides of the car uneven while driving, I'll get a loud resounding CLANG!

Now, it's not every time, and I've tried and tried to get it to do it on command so I can show someone what it's doing, but it just doesn't do it. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? The shop that installed them followed Spohn's instructions completely, and we welded most of the way up the pinch weld.

Also, I've noticed my rear upper spring isolators are shot, because I hear the springs squeaking a *lot* (part of the carpet caught fire when installing the SFC's, so I ripped the whole thing out, so I get a lot more noise). Could this be related?

Re: SFC's CLANG?!

its probably related to the spring isolator. if its shot the spring can contact the side of the pocket or just the top and make funny noises. I would fix those and see what happens, they are quite cheap

Re: SFC's CLANG?!

Whew. That's a load off. Those SFC's look like they're never coming back out, so at least now I'm focused on something else.

As for the isolators, looks like the only ones readily available are from GM (and my how the price has increased since the thread I found them in. Eeek.) and they also seem to be for fourth gens, which from what I hear are thicker than the third gen isolators. Does anyone have their isolators that are mostly together? Energy suspension has a "universal" selection, so if I had the measurements, I could probably pick out new ones. http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/sboots.html

Thanks!
