Torque arm length and handling

I'm toyinga round with the idea of going to an aftermarket torque arm, but most of the ones I can use (if not all of them) appear to be the shorter variety. THe tunnel mount types, and then the BMR Trak Pak type...

I was reading what the selling points of these setups were, and they never mention good handing, only better launches, and that's gotten me slightly concerned about how having a shorter torque arm will affect handling.

Does anyone know? I did a search, but I had a hard time finding anything relevant or specific enough to answer my question...

From what I've heard a longer one is better for handling. Shorter ones will cause wheel hop during hard braking.
