If one delete rear bumpstops for clearance, how do one get bumpstops?
I bought some wheels which interferes with the bumpstops, and I think they need to be cut away. And I've searched on this site for posts about alternative bumpstops, but not found any.
Where I live I need the bumpstops to pass inspection, and I guess I need them for bumps aswell.
So is there any standard way of fixing this issue on our cars? any aftermarket solution? Any experiences?

Well, how good are your welding skills? You could always fabricate some mounts/bump stops and attach them. Or are you looking for something more factory appearing? You mentioned inspection, how picky are they? Is having them good enough, or do they HAVE to be OEM?

I don't have a welder, and I'm not that good at fabbing steel parts either. Heck I have my new wheels and a garage worth of tools inside my zero bedroom apartment already, don't think there's room for a welder here.
I was thinking about some kit perhaps. Bolton or light welding.
I heard someone mentioned some shock, maybe it was Koni, could be ordered with bumpstop already on them? I looked into that, but didnt find any info. But then again, I just ordered bilsteins, not koni's.
They just have to work, dont need to look or be factory.

here is a quickie shock mount stop
looks like the part # is 9.61160R, not sure what the diameter of our shock shafts are.

Yeah, it's the annual bumpstop checkup, fail it, and loose your licence plates. You should be worried though, it's coming your way soon, I've heard. It's the bumpstop ****'s! A new division of C.A.F.E

Bumstops required in inspections? Sounds like a California move........
What about a leaf spring mount (those u-bolts), with a flat plate on top & a rubber bushing up there? Make sense?
What would they consider adequate? What kinds of requirements are there?

It just need to work. Needs to be the end stop, not the internals of the shocks, cause then I guess you'll destroy them...?
I'm bottoming out as it is on speedbumps, no matter how slow I go, so to run my new wheels, I need both the new bilsteins, and some bumpstops I t hink.

Think it's just the shocks thats toast. They've been weak for a long time.

When you put the wheels on, did you jack up the axle or the body?
On my car with the 315's, I have to jack up the axle, if I jack up the body and let the rear hang, the wheel hits the bumpstop and won't go on.

yeah, I had to jack up the axle. was no way I could get the wheels on if I jacked the car. So I'm thinking whenever I'll go over a speedbump, and the springs rebound, it may hit them. There's alot of speedbumps where I live.
How did you fix that though? Say if you go really fast over a hilltop, and the wheels almost hang in the air, won't it be a problem?
