RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
Received my RaceCraft K-member and A-arms today. My impressions are very good as to the quality of the product. Paint and welds are excellent. It is actually more robust than I thought it would be. In the pictures you well see a piece of 4x7 oval tubing. That will be the drivers side exhaust termination box. The kit comes with the mounting hardware as shown in the pictures. Here are the pictures.

No. I don't expect to do the actual installation until after the 1st of the year. I can mock them up on the block using the motor mounts and figure out my exhaust system including the exhaust termination boxes.

Re: RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
The RaceCraft K-member will accept the factory A-arms. If the UMI A-arms will fit the factory K-member then one would think it would work. Probably best to make a phone call.

Hmm, are you sure it fits with factory a-arms? Cause I know UMI arms do fit with the oem k.

Before you install your k-member, make sure you install your a-arms and check to see if they fit in the k-member.

Re: RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
Thanks.
What I have done so far is to just slide the a-arms into the k-member checking on the room I will have for the exhaust. I did not slide the bolt through them. Everything seemed ok at that point. I will go ahead and do a pre-assembly.

Re: RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
Today I went ahead and put the A-arms onto the K-member. The drivers side fit with no problems. On the passenger side I had to drop the A-arm down to the 90 degree point then the last bolt went right in.
Just wondering for assembly purposes if the best thing to do is lightly bolt up the K-member to the chassis and then put on the A-arms before the final tight down of the K-member chassis bolts. I was wondering if torquing down the K-member bolts first might have an effect on things such as tweaking the K-member ever so slightly.

Re: RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
The passenger side is where my problems were to, once the bolt is in can you freely move the a-arm up and down without binding. With mind, I could not even get the bolt through, but this was with the k-member in the car torqued down.

Re: RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
The drivers side a-arm will almost free fall down. The passenger side won't but it does not take that much effort to move it. I don't think most people would give it a second thought during the installation.
But 572_Rat thanks for the heads up. I think we will install the arms before the final tightening of the K-member bolts.

Re: RaceCraft K-Member and A-Arms
Good infos. 1989GTA, could you try bolting a stock a-arm to it and see if it does fit? I would really love to know. Oh and what size are the bushings on the tubular a-arms?

I don't have a stock a-arm to bolt on. At least not yet.
I will look into the bushing dimensions and post some pictures.
