Anyone with Koni Yellows and Pro-kit plz answer!

URGENT... HELP!!!!

I am in the process of changing out my springs and shocks/struts for the Koni Yellows and Pro-kit as I type this. Anyway, the Koni struts didn't come with the strut dust cover things, and I'm not sure if I really want to put the stock ones back on (they are old, cracked and ugly). Also, can I just reuse the stock spring insulators? The ones I just pulled off the car are deformed and I'm not sure if they should be reused either. I also noticed that the front Pro-kit springs are flat on one end and round on the other. Which end goes up/down? And finally, what settings do you recommend for the Hotpart strut mounts? I will be getting it professionally aligned but I want it in the ball park for my trip there.

Thanks a ton!
Mike

I use Yellows and Prokit inter alia on a car that sees a lot of time on road courses.

It's a nice compromise combination if you still want to drive the car on the street otherwise I'd go to something like a 1000 lb spring on the front instead of the Prokit which is around 700.

Make sure you index the front springs properly with the pig tail between the drain holes.

AKAIK GM only has isolators for 4thgens now and they are thicker so I would avoid using them.

I'm running neg. 1.5 camber, 0 toe and about 3.5 caster.

Rear shocks set to full soft and fronts about 3 full turns for track and 1/2 for street.

Tyres are 275/40/17 on all four corners.

The 'strut dust cover things' can be left off if the car is a low mile street track car that isn't used in bad weather. However, if it is used regularly or as a daily driver then you'll have to custom fab to attch the stock ones or a set of universal ones on.

Yes you can reuse the stock spring insulators.

All this info is on the forum already by way of a search..... mind you the current search software isn't very good :-)

Good luck with things.

I don't think Hotpart gave me enough nuts... I think I'm missing 8. Where do the supplied nuts go?

I have confirmed that no one makes the 3rd gen spring isolators so I plan on reusing the stock pieces.

I purchased some 4th gen strut boot things so hopefully they will work.

Turns out, Hotpart gave me everything I need. I just had a brain fart... Does anyone know the torque settings for all the bolts?

Amazingly I did find a company that sells the front and rear spring isolators so I'll be picking those up tomorrow.

The 4th gen strut boots don't fit, and no one makes replacements. The Koni struts came with a white plastic washer type thing that I think is supposed to replace the boot. Anyone know about his?

I also no longer have faith in Craftsmen tools. I bought some flare nut wrenches to put on the braided lines I bought and it ended up stripping everything. Turns out, all the wrenches are anywhere from .21mm to .34mm to big. Now I have to buy all new brakelines because Craftsmen F'd up. Anyone know of some quality products?
