Quick question about steering box

I've been adjusting the allen screw on top for a bit now and it's been taking so long just because of all the prep work I have to do to jack the car up between testing it... I don't have a garage and my driveway might as well be 90 degrees... Do I have to jack it up so the wheels are off the ground per http://www.monte-list.nu/tech/boxmesh.shtml

Or can I just adjust it and go?

Re: Quick question about steering box

You don't need to jack it up. Loosen the locknut, adjust the screw till it stops, then back it out 90 degrees. Then drive! you should really only have to do it once. Just dont drive the screw hard into the gear. You will be good to go.

Re: Quick question about steering box

I did mine on the ground. Helped the car some. Probably should have done it again to fine tune it.
