Suspension parts for WINTER?

Hey everyone,

I've been doing some looking for a car/truck for Winter and nothing is appealing to me. I drove my camaro last year without snow tires or sandbags and 90% of the time I didn't have a problem. I am thinking about buying a beater camaro for winter and maybe for DD in the summer, I don't know if a V6 or V8/Auto or Manual would benefit me more.

Would peformance suspension parts help me with traction in the winter? I have very steep hills where I live so I am getting some studded snow tires. (Never bought them before, but hills are steep!) Besides sandbags what all can I do to add traction?

Also would lowering or raising the car help me at all? Lowering doesn't seem good, and the stock height did fine last year, but if raising it 1/2 inch to 1 inch would help me at all let me know.

Thanks!

(My sig car, is not the winter car!)

WOW, your going as far as getting studded tires just to drive a camaro in the winter... now that is dedication.
