Re: summit lowering springs?

I put a set in my 1985 ta they seem to sit real good with stock rims I have yet to drive the car because it is still under construction. My car has low miles(48,000)sat around in storage alot so the stock springs where worn and sat low.I would say it sits the same height as the worn spring. But I am yet to road test them.

Re: summit lowering springs?

to lower a car is one thing but what u need to kno are the spring rates. drop a car with lower spring rates and u get a car that will bottom out alot on the bump stops etc. if u lower a car u need to increase the spring rates to make up for the lost distance. this makes a shorter stiffer spring, better for handling.

Ebaich springs are
sportlines 695lbin front and 100lbin-130lbin progressive rear
prokit 700lbin front and 130-160lbin progressive rear

i think the hotchkins is in the same range sumthing like 600'slbin front and low 100lbs rear. i heard intraxs sit way to low and the spring rates are too soft. i heard the global west are about the sameas the hotchkins/ebaich.

i have sportlines on mine, huge improvement over my stock WS6 springs. now im just looking for a stiffer rear spring due to added weight of a 6pt 80lb roll cage.

i heard the same thing about summit products. basically its a name brand just in there name. i heard there aluminum heads are trickflows just without the CNC porting. thats a steal. just like how TPIS and accel sell the edelbrock TPI base under their name for like 100-150$ more, one guy got a accel base came in a accel box but the actual TPI base was an edelbrock with the name edelbrock casted into it lol. screw him.
