Suspension Choice

Which should I salvage from or go an buy for my 89 camaro rs?

I'm looking for something to buy for my car in the "long run".
I was looking into buying a 383 or 454 engine to swap into my car; i just heard that if i had to much power pushing my suspension would twist or something.. so i'd like to just get that done.

regards,
Timinsk

Our cars are unibodies which means they flex. SFC's, Wonderbars, and STB's will help with that.

Re: Suspension Choice

Welding all the seems for the subframes and in the engine bay and what not will also help a ton... but it is very labor intensive.

Re: Suspension Choice

What should be welded then? Like are you talking about some of the peices of "bolted" down metal there is that should just be welded instead?

Any links to buy things to help this as well? just curious

Re: Suspension Choice

These are the most popular choices when it comes to going aftermarket with suspension.

Re: Suspension Choice

Make sure that if you are doing any welding on the car that it is setting on as flat and level a surface as you can find. You don't want to weld the car when the suspension is loaded unevenly.
