please help!!!

I recently acquired an 84 camaro z28 and finally got it running. Shortly after, I realize while changing the brakes that my suspension is busted. The shocks are blown and I'm believing that the previous owner cut the springs. I'm not very familiar with suspension and have looked around. I know that I need sfc's, new shocks, bushings, and then I'm lost. I don't know what brand/kind to get, where to put poly or rubber bushings, or what else is needed/recommended and why. I've read the stickies and searched the board. I'll be using it as a street car, maybe some track time WAY down the road, and my driving style is spirited. I'd like to have a nice compromise of comfort but great handling as I want it to be fairly predictable. I'm sorry that this was so long and thank you.

I keep hearing good things about the KYB GT2 shocks, & struts. I just bought some on ebay, & am waiting to get them. I will let you know how things work out. The price for both shocks, & struts was $146 shipped. I hope its not another bad ebay buy. For all the other stuff I have heard that moog is a good buy. I need to replace everything in my suspention as well so keep us up to date.

I'm not sure there is such a thing in a thirdgen . Opinions on what you should do will be as plentiful as stars in the sky. Check my Car Details below for what one man chose to do.

Re: please help!!!

thank you for your responses. so what do I need to look at to understand what I'm getting? Spherical ends, round ends, tubular arms, panhard, lca's what does all of this jibberish mean? I guess I'm also needing someone to take me under their wing and instruct me on the world of suspension. I will keep you posted as things come along but money is kinda tight right now and it will take a little time.

Re: please help!!!

The following after market site will school you to some extent--at least you'll have an idea of what the parts are/look like. For the most part, I'd say enthusiasts get caught up in the 'upgrade' game, and many of the parts we purchase are truly unnecessary in a street-driven car--the exceptions would be the Wonderbar or steering box brace and perhaps SFC's (subframe connectors). New rubber bushings all around, with perhaps the exception of the sway bay poly bushings and end links, would be more pleasing than not, and a lot less expensive.

Try this thread. Might give you some ideas. Bare in mind, it's performance handling oriented, but at least you may gather some ideas/facts.
