Choosing Struts for front end

Ok, so over spring break, I'm going to pull the car off the road and do a complete front end rebuild because all of the stuff is shot. I've figured out all of the other stuff with the exception of the struts. The budget will not allow for koni's or bilsteins, unless someone chimes in with an amazing off. But right now I'm contemplating whether I should get the KYB AGX's or GR2. The car is a 3.1l v6 and I enjoy spirited driving. The car will never see the track, just some varying turns of different radii around town. So right now I'm just not sure if the adjustability is worth it or not.

Thanks
-Scott

If you want a good adjustable strut go with tokico illuminas, I have them on all 4 corners. about 500 for the set off ebay.

But that's my point, are the agx's that much better than the gr2 struts or is the only advantage that they have is the fact that they are adjustable. Another thing, does having an adjustable strut make that much of a difference for handling purposes.

I'd go with the higher end Monroe's if you're concerned about price. I've tried the Gr2's and they seemed a little stiff to me. Can be had for ~$80 a pair. Don't have any experience with the AGX's. Seems like they didn't have them for our model, but that was a few years back.

I have not posted much on this website, but i just recieved my GR2's in today. They appear to be nice quality and they feel much more stiff than any other shock/strut i've ever bought. However, that is what I was going for with this car. All 4 cost me 167 with shipping at Tirerack.com. I shopped around a few months ago and that seemed to be the best price.

Re: Choosing Struts for front end

I'm just wondering if I can save $100 and use it somwhere better. So right now the strut options are GR2s, AGX's, illumina's, and I heard about tokico's hp's, are they worth consideration.
