Well like the title says my firebird pulls to the right and thats after a front alignment.

I rebuilt the front with new struts, springs, tie rods, bushings, and ball joints. I have the stock strut bearings

I then took it to a shop and want it aligned with the specs provided by this site.

WANTED
DR ---PAS
L -----R
4 ----4.5 Caster

-.05--- -.05 Camber

3/32 of toe in

This is what the gave me
DR ----PAS
L ------R
4.4 -----3.5 caster
-.07 -- -.04 camber
0 -----0 Toe

They say they can't get any closer to my specs. Car pulls pretty hard to the right when I let off the wheel. I am going to make them re do it.

I am going to have them even out the camber some more.
Probably going to go with 3.5 camber both sides WILL THIS FIX THE PULL

evening the camber out to either number should fix your pull.... i've never seen caster cause a pull.. your vehicle will normally pull to the side with the least camber. If your camber is even (or close to it) and your pull is still present check for brakes dragging, worn or broken/burnt wheel bearings.. if those check out ok cross your front tires (right on left side, left on right side). if the pull swaps sides with the tires then it is a tire problem (this is common on vehicles where the tires have been run with a bad alignment, like uneven wear on the tire)

If you check brakes, bearings, then swap tires on a car with even camber numbers and you still have a pull, the alignment equipment may need calibration.

I'll second what 1991project said about the tires, you could have a slipped belt in one and this would basically mean you need a new tire/tires. So, have someone check your tires next.

I have fairly new tires with no signs of uneven wear. I also have new inner and outer bearings so that should be good. I am going to take it back to the shop and have them even out the alignment. The guy who did it was pretty confident I wouldn't have any problems with his alignment but I am going to bring my laptop and show him this thread if he wants to argue any.

i had the same exact thing happen well sort of i was driving home one day from school right and all of a sudden my front left caliper seized up so i went straight home and got another part later. So i replaced the caliper and took it for a test drive and noticed that it was pulling to the right severely to where you really had to hold on to the wheel so i went back home and called some places. Nobody really gave me a straight answer so i figured that i would replace the rubber brakelines on the front and it fixed it beautifuly and runs real smooth now no pull what so ever.

you have your camber and caster #'s mixed around

you should have -.5 camber
and caster should be the 4 to 4.5

camber causes a pull and tire wear
caster causes a pull but no tire wear
toe will wear tires most agresevely and theoretically will not cause a pull
if your cross camber or caster is off by more than .5 degrees you will have a pull in this vehicle
im shure the shop will tell you "you need camber kits"

Sorry about haveing the caster and camber mixed I went back an edited it.

I called the shop and will go in next week to get the caster evened out some. They said that the camber was maxed with the stock strut bearing plates.
I would just like to have the car not pull so much. If I take my hand off the wheel it wants to go in the ditch way to fast for me.
