84 trans am makes wierd vibration at around 55
hey everyone im new to this site. first off i have a 84 trans am with a 5.0HO and i love it. the t-tops are awsome and i love the body style. but i bought the car without it running or a good transmission. i bought the tranny and got the car to run awsome (also has 29000 orginal miles)!!. but the car did sit for 15 years so it needed tires and it still needs major suppension work. when i would drive at or around high way speed which is 55 there would be a bad vibration coming from the back right tire. so i replaced the back shocks and it did not solve this problem. so idk if it could be the springs cuz on that side it also sits a little lower than the driver side or if it could be the driveshaft. any suggestions on where i can get a cheap aluminum drive shaft and good but cheap springs would help. iv done all the work on this car and i plan on restorein it myself. good project car! thanks

You make it seem as if you are still using the 15+ year old tires. If so, I'd get those changed and see if that fixes it. Imbalanced tires / flat spots cause most vibrations.
