Going to replace shocks, lookign for a "softer" ride quality, any suggestions?

Im going to be replacing my shocks on my 88' T/A this weekend, and im looking for a "softer" ride sort of speak. As we all know these cars ride hard with factory suspension and since i live out in the middle of the country where the roads arent always the best, anyone have suggestions as to what brand of shocks they may have used and thought it gave them a "softer and smoother" ride quality? Would like to get this done before I put my new engine/transmission combo in. Thanks for looking!

Put on some cheap Monroe shocks & struts and you will get your soft and floating ride.

Shocks only dampen the rebound. The other half of the equation is the springs. It's never going to be a luxury car.

haha well i dont expect it to ride my 96 Old's Aurora. that thing rides like a caddy, but it would be nice to not have a sore *** and back after driving the car all day haha. I hav been thinking about dropping my car but with the exhaust setup im going to be running that may be out of the question.

Drive my car for a month- your's will feel great.

If you want soft and aren't, I'd go with some Monroes for cheapies or the lowered end Bilsteins for more. I think they are supposed to give a nice ride.
