Lowering with shocks and struts!!!!

I own an 87 5.7L Iroc. I am looking to lower my car with the eibach pro-kit. I just need the set up for street cruising comfortable ride! I would like to spend about $200 or less on a set of shocks and struts. What shocks and struts would work best with this set up? Please give me your oppinion! Thanks

I did the same thing to my 86 iroc 5.7. I used the basic gabriel shocks and struts. Everyone has their own opinion on different ride settings. My car runs stiffer than it did but then again my shocks and struts were completely SHOT in the first place. I also added an adjustable panhard rod which IS A MUST if you plan on lowering the center of gravity of your car. When you lower the car it throws the rear end off by an inch or two. so I highly recommend a panhard rod. do a search on here for lowering your car. theres a sectionthats called lowering 101 somewhere on here. if i find it ill send you the link. Good Luck

Re: Lowering with shocks and struts!!!!

You'll want at least the KYBs, but you need to buy the best you can afford. The stock replacement shocks like Monroe and Gabriel weren't designed to be used on lowered cars and you'll kill em in a hurry. My new Monroes lasted about 6 months- took them off, and they were completely worn out. Replaced them with KONIs.
