camber caster plate ground control or hot part
i want to have some more room to play with along with the weight jacks i'm ordering so i'm going to be getting a set of camber/caster plates.
The hot part piece looks very nice and is a pretty straight forward design.
on the other hand i really dont understand just looking at the picture how the ground control system works. I realize it retains the stock upper strut mount, but since my car is going to end up in street modified at any events i go to keeping it legal isnt a concern.
are there any benefits to the ground control system?

Re: camber caster plate ground control or hot part
the ground control one installs in the stock strut mount, replacing the rubber mount. It can be rotated to get more adjustment out of the mount. I think its legal is stock suspension classes.
The hotpart one is obviously a complete new piece. I Just ordered a set of the hotpart ones with my weightjacks. I used to have the hotpart mounts, the first design when it was just a flat plate and spacers. It was a nice piece. I sold them to a member here a couple years ago.
I know that with the Hotpart mount that i used to have, you could position the strut anywhere inside the opening in the tower. The only way to get more adjustment would be cutting the opening in the strut tower larger

I never even knew Ground Control offered strut mounts for our cars. Doesn't matter though because I went with J&M mounts (2nd design) anyway. I've been using them for about a year now and I have nothing but good things to say. I use my car for daily driver duty and for a lot of autocross events.

ya i ordered the J&M piece, was a bit of a no brainer, looking forward to seeing how much the caster adjustment makes a difference in the way the car handles on a tight autocross course.

I love the hotpart.com camber plates. They are used almost exclusively over on the F-body road race forum on thirdgens. Here is how you adjust them with the car on the ground....
