Need rear shock help..

Axle/Gears: Stock
Need rear shock help..
This sure sounds like a stupid question but i just cant find a way into the top shock mounts on my 1987 Firebird. Have the interior panels loose over the wheel wells but they are not there.
Could somebody please tell me how to get to them?

they are under the carpet right at the top of the hump behind the rear seats. The carpet is jointed behind the rear seats, it will pull up, you will see 2 foam covers over the pockets, unless somebody lost the foam.
