New Wheels

I'm thinking of getting some 17x9.5 wheels... I have a 4th gen rear in my 1984 Camaro... Will I need spacers? and is this a good idea?

Thanks, Brad

Re: New Wheels

All depends on the backspacing. I'm running 17 x 9s front & rear (stock rear end), with plenty of room to spare on the rear & the extra 1/2" would be pushing it on my front.

But decrease my backspacing by that 1/2", 7 I'd be golden.

Which means what exactly?

Sorry for being so clueless.

Re: New Wheels

That means....17" x 9.5" doesn't give anyone enough information to tell you anything.

We need to know the backspacing or offset measurement.

Re: New Wheels

If you get rims for a 4th gen Camaro, you don't need spacers on the 4th gen rear but you will need wither 2" or 2.25" spacers in the front.

Re: New Wheels

I'm running 2" spacers upfront for my 17x9.5s. As for the rear, I'm in the process of installing a 4th gen rear and will be running 18x10.5s without spacers (hopefully).
