Torque arm or four link
Hi all,
New to the site so sorry if this has been discussed I searched and found nothing.
I think I have crossed that line and will only be trailering to the track and running 1320. I currently have rear factory style suspension. It has all been fitted with jegs tubular replacements. I am running Hoosier radials 255/50 16. 458hp motor I want to shoot 250 When the nine bolt blows I will with a 9 inch. Do I stick with the torque arm or do the four link? I have a four link from another project that was aborted. I'm not dead set on a specific racing class I just like to go fast! I should be able to tickle the 9's with the bottle if I can pu it to the ground. Will the torque arm do this? I am having some traction problems now without the bottle but without tuning the rear suspension. It will do 1.6-1.7 60's and a pretty consistent 11.90 but spins off the line and sometimes shakes into second. Staying stock will be eaiser but will it work? Sorry for rambling
I was thinking of doing some springs and shocks also till the nine blot blows to try and get some more traction?

Re: Torque arm or four link
there are factory style suspension cars running 8's, maybe 7's.
converting to a 4 link will require back halfing the car, expensive and a lot of fab required.
with some slicks your traction issues will be lessened, and a good set of springs and shocks will help you tune it all, as well as other supporting mods, anti-roll bar ect.

Re: Torque arm or four link
I was thinking of working with the stock layout first too. I may go with some wider slicks though next season when I get a rear end. Hopefully I can get it hooked up so I can get the bottle on it!
Re: Torque arm or four link
I would suggest keeping the torque arm! And go with a tunnel mounted. And if you are looking to go with a bigger tire in the rear. I would suggest going with our double adjustable w/rod ends and go with our offset bushings to allow you to fit a bigger rear tire. Below are a few links to show you what UMI Performance has to offer!
