4th gen rack on a 3rd gen?
I've been looking at various K-members and saw that Racecraft has the option to put a 4th gen rack mount on a 3rd gen K-member. I remember a 4th gen rack being discussed on here a few times, but I never saw anything conclusive come out of the threads.
Would a 4th gen rack conversion work on a 3rd gen?

572rat has it, not sure exactly what he had to do, but im pretty sure you need a bunch of universal joints to match the angles, not the best setup.

Its a ton of work. We sell k member that has the tabs for ataching a manual rack. The bid problem is getting the rack tied into the steering column. It is a very difficilt setup.

Racecraft also has the custom spindles to correct the geometry issues.
I haven't dealt with a 4th gen rack, but a mustang II power rack(mid 80's t-bird rack) is a fairly easy mount, and sounds like it's a lot easier to get the column hooked up.

so a mustangII and pinto rack both work fairly easily?
what is the hold up with the 4th gen one?
you can get shortened spindles easily.
is it the steering column as said earlier?
