Frame/Chassis Limits?
My Dad and I are thinking about turning an 89 RS into a drag car and were wondering what the hp. and torque limits are for the Frame/Chassis.
Any comments are helpful.
Thanks

Re: Frame/Chassis Limits?
You need Sub Frame Connectors no matter what your power limits are. I ran my car to 12.0 with just SFC. I also had aftermarket LCA and panhard bar and some home made LCA relocation brackets. Other than that, front and rear suspension was basically stock. It was making roughly 500 HP at the time.
When I hit 12.0, I had a 6 point roll bar installed. Back then it was required at 11.99. Now it's required at 11.49.
The third gen rear suspension while using aftermarket components can run easily into the 8's. I back halved mine a couple of years ago because I wanted to run a much bigger tire than what can be stuffed under the fenders.
