Shocks and struts
Shocks and struts
Ok I am sure I am about to beat a dead horse with this question but I did a search and did not turn up that much. I am going to be upgrading my shocks and struts on my 92 formula and I am doing it a tight budget. I already know I am going to be going with a eibach prokit but I am still up in the air on shocks/struts. I am looking at either KYB AGX or going with Tokico's. The Tokicos are less expensive but I do not want to totaly throw money away either. Are they a decent prodect or should I stay away from them??
Re: Shocks and struts
Bilstien & Koni Struts & shocks were to rich for me. So I replaced by 22yr old stock Bilstiens on my 87 IROC with KYB GR-2 struts & KYB Gas-adjust shocks. That was 6weeks ago and I am pleased with the KYB's, they were just right as reolacements. I was not happy with the Tokicos reviews.

Re: Shocks and struts
From what I've heard, the nicer Tokicos have better valving than the KYBs. Probably last longer with lowering springs as well.

KYB GR-2 struts & KYB Gas-adjust shocks , are what I ended up going with. I put very few miles a year on my car so these should be ok

I run KYB-AGXs and really like the adjustability.
They seems good so far. only 5,000 miles so far.

Re: Shocks and struts
I've got the tokico HP's (the blue ones). They are NOT adjustable, but other than that they're awesome. I've had NO trouble, and they handle the Eibach Pro-kit with no problems. I don't race, but the car handles like it's on rails.
I DID notice however that before you put the nut on top, you need a washer. I did NOT get one with the shocks. You'll run out of thread on the ram, and won't be able to fully tighten the strut. Cost me an additional .97 cents at Lowes.
