I saw these on the site. I'm under the impression that these might fit given that our cars are the same as 4th gens underneath, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong, and are these SFC's a good idea?

Unfortunately those will only fit the 93-02 cars, the rear suspensions are sumilar but the mid section and front are different.

I have a set of Kenny Brown Double Diamonds, that I bought off of a member here on TGO.


He said they were on his 87, but after getting them & looking around, I discover that look exactly like a set under a 4th gen!

Either I was ripped of, or the 4th gen set fits a 3rd gen anyways.

No. They've been sitting around, me doing other things. The hope is to borrow a chassis lift & weld them myself, but I don't personally know anyone I could ask. Buddy has a 2-post (it turns out) so that one is out.

You can't weld them on a two post lift? Is it because the car has to have it's full weight on it's suspension to weld the SFC's in?

i have no lift and can't weld for crap, but that never stopped me from welding in both sets of SFC's, i just stack pallets under each wheel untill i can squeeze underneath

Since your in cali ill throw this out there. if your military, or have access to a friend who is military go to the base and use the hobby shop there. They have welders, chassis lifts and 2 point lifts. Other than that you can weld them in your driveway as long as it is level and the suspension is loaded. You could jack up each wheel with its own jackstand set to the exact same height.

As long as the whole car is supported by the suspension, yeah.

2 under the rear axle, 2 under the front a-arms.

You can install SFC's on the ground if you wanted too....With SFC's you just have to make sure the suspension is loaded, and the body is not flexing so a nice level surface is best when using jackstands. With SFC's your just trying to avoid welding them in crooked, you want them straight so they do their job.

I was just clarifying that it doesn't HAVE to be on a full lift & the jackstands need to be under the SUSPENSION, not the chassis. I made no mention of it HAVING to be done on jackstands.
