Building a decent suspension?

I Have a 91' Camaro RS with 90,000 miles. I'm not exactly looking for the ultimate suspension. More or less I would like to know what is completely necessary for a Camaro's suspension. I am going to have a little bit of power behind the wheels and don't want to have a ton of parasitic power loss or a twisted frame. Thanks in advance.

Re: Building a decent suspension?

Are you looking to drag race the car, street drive it, or are you wanting to improve the handling of the car? (or a combination haha)?

Sub-Frame Connectors (SFC's), strut-tower brace (STB), and the Wonderbar are a great start no matter what you do. While they aren't suspension components per se, they do help out alot when you start doing other mods. They really stiffen up the chassis.

If you want a nicer suspension, just look at the non-adjustable poly-bushing items that BMR, UMI, Spohn and the like have to offer. They are relativley cheap and much better than stock.

If you want something that will allow for tuning of the suspension for either Autocross or Drag racing, start looking at the adjustible version of the part as well as rod-ends or pivot joints for the part. This will allow you to dial in your setup and reduce bind. These are more expensive, but depending on what you do can be a great return on the investment. Here's bind explained: http://www.elephantracing.com/techtopic/binding.htm

Hope this helps
