I am looking for recommendations on coil-over kits (both brand & spring selection).

The car is mostly a drag set up. Weight is ~3250 w/ driver.

I've noticed prices seem to range from $250-300 for kits without new mounts and bracing to $500-600 for kits with mounts.

On a drag set up are the new mounts needed. If so, is the spohn kit worth the extra $100 over the BMR kit.

I would like feedback from people who have either set up.

Also what height/rate spring are you using? I'm thinking 10"-175#?

Thanks
Matt

Re: coilover recommendations?
for the drag setup, you may want a longer spring to help store and release energy during launch. Spohn recommends 14" springs.

BMR kit mounts the spring to the under side of the strut tower on a new plate, spohns kit mount the spring inside the strut mount.

I used the Spohn setup for a while, its a nice kit. Only thing i noticed was that depending on your alignment, the spring could rub on the lip around the opening in the stut tower sheet metal. Occasionally you would get a bang from it caused by the spring rubbing and catching a little. Other than that its a nice setup.

BMR's kit doesnt come with a strut mount, just the plate for under the strut tower. So i would say Spohns is worth the extra $$ because of the new mounts, but in the same breath, there is nothing wrong with BMR kit.
